Ken Horne/Norm Harvey Memorial
September 11-12, 2004
The Ken Horne/Norm Harvey Memorial was played over the weekend of September 11 & 12, 2004 at the Masonic Memorial Temple in Las Vegas. A weekend of good, fighting chess was won jointly by FM David Vigorito, Virgil Reyes and Chris Bird, all finishing with 4/5. The Scholastic Section was won by William Kloss on 3½/4.
This tournament, held in memory of Ken Horne and Norm Harvey and the work they did for local chess, received even further bad news by the loss of local chess master Denis Marrero on Sunday, September 12, 2004.
