Summer Open
July 19-21, 2002
An enjoyable time was had by the 28 competitors who turned out for the first
ever weekend tournament held at the Chess Vineyard. Congratulations to IM
Enrico Sevillano and FM David Vigorito who shared first place on 4½/5.
They played a blitz play-off to decide who would win the tournament trophy but
they both won a game each and so they shared it.
Other prizes were won by Allan Fernandez and Chris Bird (U2000), Alan Amici,
Ranen Lardent and David Zachary (U1800) and Timothy Connolly, Charleston Chua
and Anthony Dellaiacono (U1600). Genevieve Hayman was awarded a trophy for
"best sportsmanship".
