(Directed by John Currell)

This strong 18-player tournament was held at the Sizzler Restaurant at Rainbow and Spring Mountain (Las Vegas). Tom Thrush scored 4 points with fine play to share first place with John Blackstone and Jorge Barrios. The leader in the last round, Denis Marrero, was paired with John Blackstone on Board 1, with Blackstone earning the full point in a subtle end game. Walter Henry was clear first U1850, while Carlo Fabia and Jason Mark shared 2nd and 3rd. Below, Walter Henry shares his draw with one of the winners, John Blackstone.
